Our meeting of October 14, 2024 featured Judy Dixon. For many years, Judy worked at the National Library Service, and she has written a number of books about topics of interest to people who are blind or who have low vision. At our meeting Judy led a presentation about how AI can benefit people who are blind. She discussed applications available on a Windows computer and an iPhone, and described what each of them does. In addition to answering questions, some of these applications can describe photos and scenes and answer queries about them. She also discussed other items that are using AI such as smart glasses. Participants had an opportunity to raise their AI questions to get Judy’s perspective.
