The American Council of the Blind of Virginia looks forward to, and is working toward, the day when:
- All people of the Commonwealth, and especially those who are blind or have low vision, have equal access to the information, education, employment, and products and services such that they can live independent, satisfying, and fulfilling lives fully immersed in their community,
- People who are blind or have low vision have transportation options that are abundant, affordable, reliable, safe, and user friendly
- People who are blind or have low vision are able to navigate the streets, public buildings, commercial buildings and venues, and websites with independence, confidence, and safety,
- People who are blind or have low vision have access to health care that is respectful, private, affordable, and user friendly,
- People who are blind or have low vision have access to technology including TVs, cable services, computers and applications, and household appliances that they can control independently and from which they can derive full benefits.
